This class introduces students to basic concepts in drawing & painting while creating opportunities to connect with others in the outdoors.
Urban Landscapes in Watercolor II takes your ourdoors and on-location sketching to the next level, building upon what you learned in the introductory course. So if you're looking to learn more about portraying urban landscapes on location, this is the class for you.
This three-hour workshop goes more in depth in the concepts covered in Urban Landscapes in Watercolor I, including skill development in watercolor techniques, like graded watercolor washing, wet-on-wet painting techniques, dry brushing, and more.
Recommended class materials (not covered by the class fee):
Small (3.5-inch x 5.5-inch or larger) watercolor notebook with quality paper
Small watercolor half pan paint set with primary colors and secondary colors
At least one quality watercolor round brush size #6 or #8
At least one quality watercolor flat brush size ⅜-inch or 1-inch
One 2b, 4b and / or 6b pencil
Waterproof Aquash Brush with Pigment Ink in gray and / or Micron pen
Kneaded eraser
Container for water
Tote bag or backpack to carry materials
Camp stool or folding chair for sitting

Note: This class will meet indoors at ARCH but will focus on outdoor sketching, so dress for the weather and consider bringing a folding stool, a portable watercolor kit and any other favorite supplies to supplement the materials provided.
