This class introduces students to basic concepts in drawing & painting while creating opportunities to connect with others in the outdoors.
End of Summer Sketch Odyssey Workshop is a 3-hour drawing and watercolor workshop that begins with an in-studio introduction to tools and materials, including an instructor-led demonstration of 4 watercolor techniques and basic color mixing principles. In the second part of the workshop, students meet at the Lafayette Reservoir to practice concepts learned by beginning an outdoor sketch on their own. Through one-on-one instruction, students are introduced to drawing and painting techniques to help capture a landscape sketch, including an introduction to aerial perspective (e.g., near and far) and how to mix color on location. The workshop closes with a final βshow and tellβ of work produced during the workshop. Throughout each phase of the workshop, students are given the opportunity to practice concepts learned with time given to answer questions and build confidence to continue making art.
This workshop is offered at two price points: $75 (without Basic Sketch Kit) and $95 (with Basic Sketch Kit)
